REQUISITI

  1. Età minima: 25 anni.
  2. Aver precedentemente praticato meditazione Vipassana.
  3. Avere conoscenze basilari del Buddhismo Theravada.
  4. Per i messicani: aver praticato o visitato precedentemente il Dhamma Vihara.
  5. Conoscere il Venerabile U Silananda, U Nandisena o qualche persona del CMBT.
  6. Impegno minimo: tre mesi.
  7. Impegno di lavoro di servizio, senza alcuna remunerazione, d'accordo alle necessità del monastero in quel momento. Potrebbe essere in cucina, giardino, pulizia delle aree comuni, ecc.


SE COPRITE QUESTI REQUISITI

  1. Leggete la pagina di orientamento.
  2. Spedire il messaggio (o la lettera) indicando che copre i requisiti precedentemente segnalati e il suo interesse di essere residente al Dhamma Vihara.
     


Un membro del direttivo del CMBT si metterà in contatto con l'aspirante per dare le indicazioni relative alla compilazione e invio del Modulo di Residenti.

Su questa base, il direttivo del CMBT deciderà e informerà l'interessato se la sua richiesta è stata o no pre-approvata. Nel caso positivo, si richiederà all'aspirante la seguente documentazione:

  1. Due lettere di raccomandazione.
  2. Copia fotostatica del passaporto. Per i cittadini messicani sarà valida la Credencial de Elector.
  3. Una fotografia formato tessera.

Ottenuta questa documentazione, il candidato riceverà una lettera di approvazione del direttivo. In questa lettera si notificherà ciò che segue e si chiederà la sua accettazione:

  1. Le funzioni da svolgere durante la residenza al Dhamma Vihara o la persona che vi sarà assegnata.
  2. Il CMBT non si fa responsabile di alcuna spesa medica nè di indole personale (spese telefoniche, articoli di uso personale) durante la permanenza al Dhamma Vihara.
  3. Il periodo di residenza approvato, specificando le date di arrivo e partenza.
  4. Se il residente è straniero, il CMBT non si farà responsabile dei permessi di soggiorno. La documentazione e le spese saranno a carico dell'interessato.
  5. Il residente sarà soggetto a periodiche valutazioni durante il periodo di residenza. Il CMBT si riserva il diritto di chiedere di lasciare il posto se non copre le condizioni della sua residenza.
  6. Se per qualche importante ragione il residente dovrà andarsene prima del periodo stabilito, dovrà renderlo noto per lo meno 15 giorni prima.
  7. Il residente dovrà seguire sempre gli Otto Precetti, assistere alle quattro meditazioni quitidiane, e seguire tutte le indicazioni stabilite nella pagina di orientamento.
  8. Il residente potrà avere un giorno di riposo, che sarà programmato. Nel caso voglia uscire dal monastero, dovrà chiedere autorizzazione previa e rientrare prima delle 8.00 p.m. Il resto del tempo dovrà rimanere all'interno della proprietà del monastero.

RESIDENTS

 

requirements

  1. Minimum age: 25 (male or female).
  2. To have practiced Vipassana meditation before .
  3. To have a basic knowledge of Theravada Buddhism.
  4. To know personally Venerable U Silananda, U Nandisena, any person from CMBT, or to have a letter of recommendation from a Theravada monk.
  5. Minimum commitment: Three months.
  6. Commitment to do service work (without payment) according to the needs of the monastery at the time of the residency. It can be work in the kitchen, garden, cleaning, etc.


 IF THESE RequirementS ARE FULFILLED

  1. Read the Orientacion Page.
  2. Send e-mail (letter) indicating that the candidate fulfills the requirements and stating intention to be a resident of the Dhamma Vihara.
     


Afterwards a member of CMBT Board of Directors will contact the candidate to give him/her instructions to fill out and send the Resident Form.

Based upon the information supplied in the resident form, the Board of Directors will decide and inform the candidate if the application has been pre-approved or rejected. If the application has been pre-approved, the Board of Directors will require the following:

  1. Two letters of reference.
  2. Copy of the main page of the passport.
  3. A recent passport-size photo.

After CMBT receives the above documentation, the candidate will receive a letter of approval. In this letter he/she will be notified of the following :

  1. The type of service work he/she will be assigned during the the residency or the name of the person who will assign the work.
  2. CMBT will not be responsible in the event of any illness, injury, or accident incurred during the residency. CMBT will not be responsible for any expense apart from room and board.
  3. The specific period of residency including date of arrival and departure.
  4. CMBT is neither responsible for obtaining a visa nor for any expense related to the immigration status of the resident.
  5. The resident will have periodic evaluations during the period of residency. CMBT reserves the right to request the resident to leave the Dhamma Vihara if the resident does not follow the rules as stated in the Orientacion Page.
  6. If for any important reason the resident needs to leave before the stated date of departure, he/she should notify CMBT Board of Directors at least fifteen days in advance.
  7. The resident should always observe the Eight Precepts, attend the four daily meditations and follow all the instructions as stated in the Orientacion Page.
  8. The resident can have a day off which should be programmed in advance. If the resident wishes to go out of the monastery, he/she should request permission and return before 8:00 pm. The rest of the time the resident should remain within the compound of the Dhamma Vihara.
