RESIDENTES
 

REQUISITOS

  1. Edad mínima: 25 años ambos sexos.
  2. Haber practicado anteriormente meditación vipassana.
  3. Tener conocimientos básicos de Buddhismo Theravada.
  4. Mexicanos: Haber practicado o visitado el Dhamma Vihara con anterioridad.
  5. Conocer al Venerable U Silananda, U Nandisena o alguna persona del CMBT.
  6. Compromiso mínimo: Tres meses.
  7. Compromiso de trabajo de servicio, sin renumeración económica, de acuerdo con las necesidades del monasterio en ese momento. Puede ser en la cocina, jardín, limpieza de áreas comunes, etc.


SI CUMPLE CON ESTOS REQUISITOS

  1. Leer la Hoja de Orientación.
  2. Enviar correo (carta) indicando que cumple con los requisitos anteriormente señalados y su intención de ser residente en el Dhamma Vihara.
     


Posteriormente, un miembro de la Mesa Directiva del CMBT se pondrá en contacto con el aspirante a residente para darle indicaciones para que llene y envíe el Formulario de Residentes.

En base al formulario de residentes recibido, la Mesa Directiva del CMBT decidirá e informará al aspirante si la solicitud ha sido pre-aprobada o rechazada. En caso de que la solicitud haya sido pre-aprobada, se requerirá del aspirante lo siguiente:

  1. Dos cartas de referencia.
  2. Copia fotostática del pasaporte. Mexicanos puede ser la Credencial de Elector.
  3. Una fotografía tamaño credencial.

Después de recibida esta documentación, el candidato recibirá una carta de aprobación de la Mesa Directiva. En dicha carta se le notificará lo siguiente y se le solicitará su aceptación:

  1. Las funciones a desempeñar durante la residencia en el Dhamma Vihara o la persona que se las asignará.
  2. El CMBT no se hace responsable de ningún gasto médico ni de índole personal (llamadas telefónicas, artículos de aseo personal, etc.) durante la estancia en el Dhamma Vihara.
  3. El período de la residencia aprobado especificando fechas de llegada y salida.
  4. Si el residente es extranjero, el CMBT no se hace responsable de trámites migratorios. Todos estos trámites y gastos van por cuenta del interesado/a.
  5. El residente estará sujeto a valoraciones periódicas durante el periodo de residencia. El CMBT se reserva el derecho de pedirle que abandone el lugar si no cumple con las condiciones de su residencia.
  6. Si por alguna razón importante el residente debe irse antes de la fecha estipulada, deberá notificarlo por lo menos con quince días de anticipación.
  7. El residente deberá siempre seguir los Ocho Preceptos, asistir a las cuatro meditaciones programadas diarias y seguir todas las indicaciones establecidas en la hoja de orientación.
  8. El residente podrá tener un día de descanso, el cual deberá estar programado. En caso de que requiera salir del monasterio, deberá solicitar autorización previa y regresar antes de las 8:00 pm. El resto del tiempo deberá permanecer dentro de los límites de la propiedad del monasterio.

RESIDENTS

  1. Minimum age: 25 (male or female).
  2. To have practiced Vipassana meditation before .
  3. To have a basic knowledge of Theravada Buddhism.
  4. To know personally Venerable U Silananda, U Nandisena, any person from CMBT, or to have a letter of recommendation from a Theravada monk.
  5. Minimum commitment: Three months.
  6. Commitment to do service work (without payment) according to the needs of the monastery at the time of the residency. It can be work in the kitchen, garden, cleaning, etc.


IF THESE RequirementS ARE FULFILLED

  1. Read the Orientacion Page.
  2. Send e-mail (letter) indicating that the candidate fulfills the requirements and stating intention to be a resident of the Dhamma Vihara.
     


Afterwards a member of CMBT Board of Directors will contact the candidate to give him/her instructions to fill out and send the Resident Form.

Based upon the information supplied in the resident form, the Board of Directors will decide and inform the candidate if the application has been pre-approved or rejected. If the application has been pre-approved, the Board of Directors will require the following:

  1. Two letters of reference.
  2. Copy of the main page of the passport.
  3. A recent passport-size photo.

After CMBT receives the above documentation, the candidate will receive a letter of approval. In this letter he/she will be notified of the following :

  1. The type of service work he/she will be assigned during the the residency or the name of the person who will assign the work.
  2. CMBT will not be responsible in the event of any illness, injury, or accident incurred during the residency. CMBT will not be responsible for any expense apart from room and board.
  3. The specific period of residency including date of arrival and departure.
  4. CMBT is neither responsible for obtaining a visa nor for any expense related to the immigration status of the resident.
  5. The resident will have periodic evaluations during the period of residency. CMBT reserves the right to request the resident to leave the Dhamma Vihara if the resident does not follow the rules as stated in the Orientacion Page.
  6. If for any important reason the resident needs to leave before the stated date of departure, he/she should notify CMBT Board of Directors at least fifteen days in advance.
  7. The resident should always observe the Eight Precepts, attend the four daily meditations and follow all the instructions as stated in the Orientacion Page.
  8. The resident can have a day off which should be programmed in advance. If the resident wishes to go out of the monastery, he/she should request permission and return before 8:00 pm. The rest of the time the resident should remain within the compound of the Dhamma Vihara.
